I originally started Rice Cake Box in the beginning of 2021 as a monthly kawaii subscription box. To specify, these were physical boxes filled with adorable kawaii merch that were sent out to subscribers every month. The business was created in the middle of the pandemic. I came up with the idea since I had limited options to work during the lockdown, I also had a baby during the pandemic, so naturally thought of creative ways to work before the entire world turned upside down. I started branding Rice Cake Box and ordered all the merch and supplies needed in order to curate each box. While the business was in development, I eventually realized how much original artwork was very important, especially due to infringement rights. Coming up with that idea made me remember how much passion I’ve always had as a creator. Eventually, I focused on creating my own original characters. My idea was a series of cute adorable characters full of positive fun vibes. I later asked my husband, Brandon for his help with creating them, since he has had several years as an artist. We both now work together bringing the vision into reality in web 3.0. For now, we have a constant urge to CREATE! We love coming up with cute, adorable, fun characters that will bring more joy to the world.

Questions and Answers
What is an NFT?
Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are cryptographic assets on a blockchain with unique identification codes and metadata that distinguish them from each other. Unlike cryptocurrencies, they cannot be traded or exchanged at equivalency. This differs from fungible tokens like cryptocurrencies, which are identical to each other and, therefore, can serve as a medium for commercial transactions.

We will be donating a portion of our sales after we sell 50% of the collection. We will be choosing several mental health programs to donate to. Why mental health? We would like to break the stigma for mental illness and to spread awareness. Mental health influences the way you function from day to day. Often, because of misconceptions about mental health, people often suffer in silence and their conditions go untreated. Many problems stem from mental health issues, and you could find it challenging to work, build or maintain a healthy relationship(s). Unfortunately, negative attitudes and beliefs toward people who have a mental health condition are common. We would like to change that negative stereotype.
